What are you thankful for? I am thankful for everything, every single thing. I am thankful for the good. I am thankful for the bad. I am thankful for the failure. I am thankful for the success. I am thankful for everything that has come my way. I am thankful for the family I have been given. I am thankful for the place I am right now. I am thankful for the life I have been given. Everything I am today is because of the past and I appreciate it.

Borg/Mcenroe was a very good movie. If you play sports you will understand the emotion that comes with it. I can relate to this movie so much. Both Borg and Mcenroe have different personalities, but they have the same goal, to win. They felt under pressure and everyone was trying to cheer them up saying "it's easy, you'll win, you got this" but no one understands how it is to be in a big game like that. No one will understand the pressure until they are there in that exact moment. When it comes to a big game, there is no room for error. There is so much emotion and thoughts going on. I also really like the way Shia LeBeouf and Sverrir Gudnason acted. It made me emotional. I actually almost cried when they were awarding Mcenroe the trophy. The cinematography was very good too. I love the action shots when they were hitting the ball. They did quick movements, sort of like whips, to give the scenes more drama. They also would go back and forth between past and present which made the movie really interesting. They would show a present scene and go back in time to the past and show why they were the way they were in the present. I didn't know it was a true story until the end. Knowing that it was a true story made me even like the movie more. I would suggest this movie to anyone who loves sports movies and tennis, especially if you've ever played a sport and had the mindset of "winning is everything".This was definitely something new for me. It was my first time ever sailing and it was my first time ever going on a boat to another island. It was the craziest, but best thing I have ever done. We planned a 3 day trip and sailed from Oahu to Moloka'i on Ronnie's sailboat, The Quiver. At first I was pretty scared. I was putting all of my trust into Ronnie, hoping that everything would go exactly as planned, and well it did. We slept over night on the boat so we could get a nice early start at 5am. We woke up at 5, got our things ready, set up the sails, and used the engine to maneuver us out of the Honolulu Yatch Club. It was nice and steady, wind was enough for us to get moving and the water was calm enough for us to slither through. During our 8 1/2 hour voyage we all took turns steering the sail boat. We threw out a couple of fishing lines hoping to catch some dinner. We ended up catching a Mahi Mahi and even created some canvases for memories. At around 3pm we docked off of Hale O Lono harbor on the first day and paddled in to see what was on land. We just walked around and watched the waves. Ronnie and Clayton decided to go surfing for a little right before sunset. We paddled back to the boat at dawn and showered on the top of the boat. It was really really cold. Ronnie cooked us some fresh mahi mahi and vegetable curry that was very delicious. We watched a movie and ended up heading to bed shortly after that.
Green screen, its something I am not to familiar with. This was my first time using a green screen. Green screens are pretty cool, you can use the green screen to erase the background and replace it with something else in post production. I ran into a few errors during trial. I wanted to go above and beyond with this project. My goal was to put myself into a harry potter movie. The first really difficult thing about this project was definitely the lighting. The harry potter movie lighting was very dark with a tint of blue and a soft orange light coming from the right side. The lighting I had in the green screen room was only the yellow/orange lights already set up. Filming the movie scene was very easy, but color correcting the footage was a bit hard. It was easy to get rid of the green background. I went into After Effects and used the keylight effect to get rid of the green background. Once I adjusted the settings to make the video look clean I started with placing me in the right spot and scaling me to look like I was next to Harry Potter but slightly behind. Then I blurred me a bit because he was in focus and most things behind him weren't. So i added blur to myself. Then I did the color grading. I lowered my exposure a bit, adjusted the white balance to make it a little more blue. I had to go deeper into detail with adjusting the highlight, mid tones and shadows for the color grading. I kept adjusting everything to the best of my ability until I got close enough to what I thought looked good. This was a very challenging exercise and I am glad I chose to do what I did. Everyone else did news reports and I wanted to challenge myself.
For my interview I decided I wanted to do something informative for students at Hawai'i Pacific University. Since our MULT class requires us to use the green screen, cameras, tripods, and audio equipment I decided to do an interview at the media lab with Alex who is in our class and also a worker at the Media Lab. I wanted my interview to be different from others so I did my interview from a first person point of view and in one take, with no cuts or editing.
